One of my potato plants got knocked over by my mother while we are weeding, because she’s partially blind, she didn’t see that she knocked over a potato plant. When I came back from doing errands, the plant was already wilting and dying. I decided to harvest the potatoes from the plant.

The result was a bunch of red Pontiac potatoes like this one.

I made one into a baked potato, and it was the best potato I ever had.

Red Pontiacs are excellent.

I can see why, or rather, I can taste why they’re excellent.

I’ve also got Russet burbanks and purple majesties growing as well as a couple other potato varieties that I forgot the names of.

I have 48 potato plants that I planted. The rest out in the "potato area" are volunteers. As those start blooming, I'm going to dig them up.

I'm looking forward to getting potatoes out of the garden again.

I planted 15 potatoes, I think I have five different varieties. Lost one plant to disease, and had to harvest one due to my mother accidentally knocking over the plant.

I planted some red and German Butterball that were given to me by a friend. That row of plants is not looking healthy! I think they're too close to the rhubarb. I didn't know that the nightshades and rhubarb weren't good companions.

I've grown tomatoes, potatoes and eggplants right beside my rhubarb without any problems.

That's the only thing I can think of to explain why only that row is stunted.

Anyone have any ideas? The plants got touched by a late frost, but so did others, and they have bounced back and are big and lush.

Made my second batch of bread dough, here's the first rise!

Punched down (with crank), divided and placed dough in greased loaf pans for second rise. It didn't rise as high as the first time, but I expected it as I substituted honey for sugar, and 3 cups of rye flour, too.

I have to tinker with recipes, I can't leave them alone!

Going to feed the sour dough starter tonight and make a batch of dough in the morning to be ready late tomorrow afternoon.

I went to visit a new neighbor this morning to make sure she had my cell phone number in case she needed anything. Nine hours later, I had to stop the conversation. I was supposed to make two kinds of cookies today, but now it seems like I’ll be lucky to get a batch of cinnamon rolls done.
Yes, cookie should be faster. However, it doesn’t seem like it at the moment.
