PLUM CAKE BAKING POWDER RAISED.

Did a little baking today. I just modified a recipe to make with what I had on hand. This dough could support any variety of canned , or fresh fruit.

Dough ingredients.
Butter, 2 sticks (melted and cooled)
Sugar 1 cup.
4 eggs
Syrup from can of plums
Flour,, 3 cups
Baking powder 3 teaspoons

I mixed all liquid ingredients in my stand mixer. with the sugar.
I mixed the baking powder with the flour,, and added it to the mixer a little at a time.
The dough was quite stiff when I spread it onto pan lined with parchment.
I took the plums, cut in halves, and pushed into dough.
Baked at 350°F for 40 minutes. Toothpick came out dry.

Notes. I added the Syrup from the plums. Color was purple. There was about 3/4 of a cup of it. I was anticipating the dough to have a blueish tint, but it did not. Guessing the amount of syrup was not that much to do such.
This is a good quick dough recipe that can accommodate many different fruit, depending what is on hand.

Does anyone know off-hand what the dry ingredients for General Tso sauce are? I’m fairly sure there is brown sugar, hot pepper flakes, sesame seeds and I don’t know what else. 🙃 If I need to I’ll just start with a brown sugar cayenne blend, but I figured I’d check if anyone here has made it before.

I want to make jerky this weekend and I have previously tried using a premade mix (didn’t taste right at all) and using some existing sauce I liked (jerky stuck to everything).

General Tsaos it’s always a big hit in my house. Here’s the recipe I use, if that helps.
