Any hunters/hunter wives?

I LOVE making jerky! I usually dry strips instead of ground meat for it. Funny story, I once bought jerky cure and seasoning in packets, and I thought each packet only did a pound or two of meat, so I bought eight packets, all different flavors.

... Turns out, each packet makes 75lbs of jerky. LMAO now I can make jerky FOREVER!!!! It's really simple - I know a lot of people who eat venison jerky but not venison steak (why, I don't understand, but I love game), so if anyone wants to discuss jerky making techniques, let me know. My husband even turned an old fridge into a jerky dryer for me!

You are one lucky woman. I would give my right arm just to be able to have a large size dehydrator. As it is I have three that I almost always have going with something in it. I absolutely adore jerky and make it often. I don't use any mixes though because all the ones I've tried are nasty. What kind do you use? I always love to talk jerky.
