Sorry I did not pic this thread up until tonight. Glad you are making some steps toward getting better and that it was not a more serious heart attack. As a nurse I thought that you probably had one, 5 nitros is too many to take and stay home. I have A fib, a heart arrythmia and based on that and my experience as a nurse I would like to give you the following advice:
Re: all the nutritional information and CQ10 and other supplements. While you have been given some good basic info from concerned and caring people you may not be in a position to take all this great advice. ARE YOU TAKING OR SUPPOSED TO BE TAKING A BLOOD THINNER? (Plavix, aspirin, coumadin (also called warfirin) etc. ) Skip the CQ10, green leafy vegs and any other supplements or major diet change until you run it by your doctor (probably can be taken care of by reading precautions on your prescription or calling your pharmacy or doctor). Lots of things interfer with blood clotting and thinning your blood is often a part of treating heart problems to keep a clot from forming and causing more serious heart damage or even a stroke.
Re: energy level, exercise. You do need to gradually build up your activities but your heart is still healing and if your body is saying "I am way too tired" you need to listen. Having an episode of a fib is totally exhausting for me and my heart is healthy other than the electrical system that causes it to mis fire. When your body tells you to rest you need to teach your mind to listen. You do need to balance that with doing a little more each day. It sounds like you are doing just fine in this category. If you don't feel like walking far just being outside awhile when you can may perk up your mood
Re: stress, disablility, medical bills, selling your business etc. Don't be too proud to accept some help if you qualify.....You and I both paid our tax money to provide these services and personally I'd rather see it go to you than to someone who doesn't want to work in the first place as is sometimes the case. Your business probably does cause you a lot of stress but who knows you may be more stressed trying to live without it. I pray you make the right decision. If you or your wife apply for disability, continue to reapply, get a lawyer if necessary and most importantly don't quit the process once you start because sometimes the settlement is retroactive to the first application if you have not dropped the ball and quit trying for awhile.
I pray things work out for the good for you and your wife. I always enjoy reading your posts here.
