OK, this is a weird one. I am still a novice in my opinion but I have hatched hundreds of chicks in the past couple of years. And many more as a young adult 20+ years ago.
I have a Wyandotte chick that was born with umbilical wrapped tightly around her foot. She is just a few hours old and I cut it free when it was safe to do so. But her foot is swollen twice the size of the other. In my experience, previous limps or issues seem to disappear with a few days growth but this one is very odd. I was reluctant to open the incubator since she is the first to hatch but I could see there was a problem so I transferred her to a warm brooder after removing her.
It should heal as she grows right?
