Well the boys are out swimming in their pool and waddling around in the run like old times today but I definitely think I’ll look into putting some sort of netting up. There are two bald eagle nests within 5 miles of me and those things are huge!

They will be looking to feed their young soon! Glad to hear they are out today!!

Owls love ducks. They will watch you and easily keep adjusting their time everytime you bring them in. Geese are great guardians for them during the day. At night, owls will go into duck area and get them.

Sounds like something took a pass at them and missed. You can try the netting sold as "Deer fencing". It's lightweight and fairly easy to work with getting it up and over things as a cover. I had issues with a netting cover in the winter with snow buildup and took it down. Lost a bird 2 days in a row after that to a hawk. Hung up 5 foot strips of scare tape on overhead strips of wood throughout the open run and a few in the yard. Watched a red tail come, look things over twice in a week and it hasn't returned and no more dead birds. The scare tape seems to work at repelling the hawks from the run/yard and strips near the house have chased off the woodpeckers that were making holes in the house. The stuff I bought was 2 sided holographic with a scatter pattern as well as rotating circles. They definitely did not like it.

We have A LOT of coyotes around here so I built their coop with that in mind. They’re definitely secure inside it at night. I guess I didn’t plan enough for possibly attacks from above!!

I bought a couple rolls and it tears easily with the wind and I find pieces all over the yard. Is that normal? I'm afraid the ducks will eat it and then we will have another problem!

I thought electric netting would keep my guys safe. Coyote came over and ate my gander. It's pretty amazing to get a 20 lb gander over an electric fence. The rest of the birds will not come outside anymore.

I had one come after my border collie the other night and it wasn't even dark out and I wasn't 30' away. No more free grazing for my ducks! I was so lucky they weren't out foraging like they usually are! I never would have been able to control that situation.
