any keets yet..? 2012 hatching thread anyone?

ive got a pearl pied setting on about 20 eggs.she raised some keets for me last year so figured id let her set again this year well see it this goes. she just started setting tight a few days ago.i also have 2 eggs under a broody chicken hen and 6 in the incubator. those 8 are due to hatch on the 20th or so.

is anybody else have any keets yet?

if so go ahead and post some pics...

Cole, we have tried to incubate, but no luck so far. We think we have the incubator figured out and should have some ready to hatch, in a week. We also have a chicken hen sitting on a big clutch, she keeps stealing them daily. She has been sitting on them since last wed. So we should be having baby keets soon.

Here are photos of my chicken-incubator assembly line maternity ward. A broody hen is set as soon as I have a dozen guinea eggs. First hatch was in April, next hatch was last week. The sitting hens are due aprox weekly. When eggs start hatching I move mom-in-the-box to the nursery side. I let moms and keets out when they seem ready to explore. The first mom and her 4 foster-keets are now in the "big house" at night.

I have an order for some can not Wait ! I live in Rural NY and couldnt find any one Local to buy from, Eery one was saying their Hatches failed, I finally ordered some Purples lavenders and whites through the mail ! Can not wait !!! Now I am studying my heart out to make sure I can properly care for them .. I do want to add pearls some day too .. I think they are so Cool

When/if your Lavenders and Royal Purples breed next season you will get some Pearl Grey keets in every hatch

Looks like we may be having lots of keets hatching. I have a turkey hen on 5 guinea eggs, a wyandotte on 14 guinea, we have 16 in the incubator, and I just saw a guinea hen on a nest of many eggs. Not sure if she is laying or nesting, will know more later today.

i had a keet hatch early. hatched sometime today. not due to hatch till sunday LOL must of had the temp up a little bit high. looks like a white.
