Oh WOW that's fabulous news!!!!Great news- Willow survived surgery!!!!!
She is in recovery now and doing well as she wakes up. Because she had the hormone implant, her reproductive tract was fairly small and not overly inflamed, which made the surgery easier. He didn’t even have to cut through the ribs, which has to be done if there is a lot of material in oviduct. There were no tumors or impaction material in the oviduct, so the disease could have been from the oviduct itself.
The vet did make note of a lot of fat in the abdomen, and I know fatty liver can be a problem, so treats will be limited for everyone from here on out. Also one of her kidneys was a little redder and her liver did bleed a little, so they will still keep a close eye on her as she recovers. At this point the vet said it could be from having the inflamed reproductive tract and fat pushing on the organs and he felt optimistic that she will be feeling a lot better after this.
I will call to check on her later today and see the vet tomorrow when I pick her up. Will keep updating. For now I’m so relieved!
