Any new ideas on what the heck this is?

She is beautiful!! and she , to me looks so EE=ish. Even with the white legs and wrong comb. I have one that looks very much like her but she has Yellow legs like her dad, a Light Brahma.

I'm going against the popular vote and say I don't think she is an EE of any sort. She looks like a silver
wyndotte crossed with a light or columbian marked sussex of some sort. Whatever she is I wouldnt mind
having one just like her she is gorgeous! Sell me some eggs and I will be your friend forever!

She looks like a Sussex to me other than the body color. I'm guessing Speckled Sussex and Columbian Wyandotte cross (they have both of those breeds...)

In general, thats kinda what I was thinking about the color pattern--not sure on the Wyandotte. If you experiment with the chicken calculator http://kippenjungle.nl/kruising.html and put in black patterened silver columbian for the roo and black patterend millefleur (sub red in the mahogany, I think thats as close as you can get for a SS) you get a black patterned redshouldered/cream columbian. Its the closest description I could find. You could go to the chicken calulator and play around with it and see if you can come closer.

When I ordered from MPC, they also messed up a couple of mine. Instead of a light brahma I got a lakenvelder, and my "random assorted rare breed" turned out to be a funny little mutt whose parentage is still a mystery! They really need to get better fences over there at the MPC breeding pens

As to your beauty, I'm stumped! Is she as big as her roundedness makes her look? A sussex cross sounds possible to me, but MPC's sussexes don't seem to be so chubby. Maybe crossed with a wyandotte or cochin? Please tell us her egg color when she starts laying!

She is definitely as big as she looks. I have 2 Sussexes the same age, 1 speckled that I thought was a boy, but now I'm not so sure, need to post some pics. The other is a Coronation that I was sure was a boy until I posted here and was told by experienced Sussex owners that she is a girl, she just has super super thick knock kneed legs. But I am sure that one is a girl now, b/c she flat out RUNS when my roos do their food calls and one of my roos was picking up food and feeding it straight to her! Anyway, the bird in question is the same size and body type as those 2 Sussexes, so I think saying she's a Sussex cross is a possibility. Maybe a Light Sussex? Light Sussex are Columbian colored aren't they?
