We're renting a farmhouse on Western Ave. It's beautiful out here. My wife and I both say that when we walk out on to the back deck it's like being on vacation. The house overlooks about 100 acres. Some of the fields are planted with hay and corn. The other part has 3 ponds. One pond is stocked with bass. The other pond is on a large fenced in field where 14 calves are currently residing for the summer. We have a family of Canadian geese which we are watching as the goslings grow up. And there are numerous other wild bird species that we watch at the feeders on the deck. It's just an amazing place to call home.
Currently we have only the four Silkies (Beaker, Snowball, Stratus, and Nimbus). We got them because they are so darn cute and they make us smile and laugh just watching them. We have 12 Wellsummer eggs in the incubator. It is our first attempt at incubating, so we're being realistic about the success of this. And, we also have 10 chicks that will be coming at the beginning of July (RIR, Barred Rock, and EE).
Regards,
Todd
