Any NY'ers??

My DH grew up in Croton-on-Hudson and his dad taught in Ossining years ago. I was born in Rochester and lived in Henrietta (hence the name on here-though I have yet to name a chicken after the town!) till I was three. Now I'm in CT and only visit Croton and occasionally up to Rochester to see family I still have there.
Sorry, went a little off topic there, since none of this involves raising chickens there.

i live way out on long island too. in Ridge! i have too many roos of the silkie variety... if any one is looking for one or two. (i have 4 roos out of 7 overall) they are cute and friendly and take snacks from my hand. they are not even crowing yet

i love ridge, it is a great town, and a great area for: chickens horses goats a peacock or 2.
there are wild turkeys deer quail etc.

its nice here

It's in CT. (should edit that to be more precise, huh?

We're at the other end of the state, about an hour south of Buffalo. We have a nice little hometown animal auction every Wednesday--Gentners--which goes no matter the weather: rain, sun, heat, snow, cold.
It's a great place to find any sort of farm animal.

I am new to the list, live in Ithaca but soon to move to a small farm in the Trumansburg area and hoping to get some Orpington chicks in the Spring that I hope to let free range for eggs and meat.
Right now trying to learn all I can.
