Oh how funny! It's a good thing you write on your eggs!
I had another 6 egg day, except for one problem....I have an egg eater!! One of the chickens ate my JG's egg! Noooo! Egg eaters are so hard to untrain.
So today the kids had yet another snow day, but tomorrow our weather is supposed to start warming up in a big way. My chicks in the nursery coop are now 6 weeks old, and I think that they're ready to go without the heat lamp. That's a big relief. It's stressful having it in the coop. They're all pretty much fully feathered, although not in the prettiest way. The white Marans are gorgeous! They almost look like doves flying around in the baby coop (btw, if my BF ever proposes, I'm going to insist we release a flock of white 6 week old chickens at the ceremony
) But the rest of the birds look pretty ridiculous. I have 23 eggs in the bator hatching next week, all for sale, and 30 eggs arriving the week after (all for meeeeee!).
Yeah, I have chicken fever in a big way. What's worse is I'm between deadlines at work, and have nothing to do most of the day except read about chickens, which is only fueling my desire to hatch more chickens.
