Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

Frozen watermelon, what a great idea for hot days! Spikes Chooks, your birds are beautiful!

We're having a very strange week here, warm in the 50s and 60s. It's supposed to be near 70 degrees tomorrow. So weird, but I'm not complaining. Unfortunately, warm days in mid winter can only mean one thing...time to clean out and re bed the chicken coop so I don't have to do it in the snow.
Watermelon for Spikes Chooks!

I'm heading down to UDelaware to see my oldest who just got diagnosed with Mono. I am so worried about him. Also, 2 boys in his frat house have the flu, one hospitalized. I want him to come home but we passed the drop course date, and he is flipping he will miss these two winter courses to graduate on time. The flu epidemic is frightening and it's only the begining of Jan. I won't be back until late Sat. or early Sunday. I'm bringing him some cooked dishes that are his favorite, although he is saying he has no appitite. Going to bring him some eggs too, although not sure I want to venture inside that Frat House. You should see what it looks like, let alone scramble some eggs for him in that disgusting kitchen!

I'll be touching base with my mobile BYC ap, but it's a bit difficult with my old eyes!
Wish him luck,
MB

Oh Gezz!! Yeah I just sanitized my desk here at work! and had everyone else in the office do the same! This is all just outta control! Hope he gets better! Maybe pick up a face mask and some air-born, vitamin C, etc. before entering that Frat house!

Good luck!

Thank you Roses...

I also have the big container of Clorox wipes! Waiting for the last thing I am cooking to be done, and then I am on my way!

Thank you for your well wishes...

Oh gosh MB, mono is terrible. I remember vividly my sis having it in high school. I hope he recovers well. A frat house seems like the last place I'd want to be if I were sick in bed.

The flu is terrible here this year! Both my kids got the vaccine. I'm hoping that'll be enough to keep it out of our house.

Only one egg so far today! However, while I was gone this morning all four nesting boxes were rearranged and the golf balls were buried. I think my future is starting to look a little brighter. My americana who I saw in the box yesterday was rearranging one box just a few minutes ago so maybe a blue/green egg is near! It also is beginning to sound like a chicken concert out there. Lots of noises but they are still just the bawk, bawk, bawk, bawks. I refuse to get my hopes to high because then its just a bigger fall.

MB, Sending they healing vibe to your son for a speedy recovery.

That is strange Brooseter... Your weather. We are having a cold snap here in Southern Cal. We had temp at night droping below freezing and Sat night it is supposed to get into the 20's. That is cold for us.. I broke ice in the horse water trough this morning. Lucky that I had toped off their water because I could not turn on their water..... That was wierd. The next few days it won't be above 50's... I guess we are exchanging the weather for a few days. ..

Another week gone by :( My girls are now 31 weeks, 24 weeks, 22 weeks, and 16 weeks. Still no eggs... The Austrolorp (24 weeks) looks the closest. Wellsummer (31 weeks) looks next. I know it's still to early for the other 4. Just updating everyone. Even though we've had chickens for 4 years it's still so exciting finding eggs LOL

So sorry to hear about this Melabella. I hope you son gets better soon. I know the stress of getting your classes done on time and midterms and finals. To be sick on top... I will send any healing energy I can.

Sorry to hear that Melabella, Mono is not fun. I remember back when I was in the 6th grade I got the chicken pox for the first time. Well I ended up sharing them with my brother who was in 11th grade. He stayed sick for a very long time much longer then I did. My mom took him to the doctor and found out he had Mono too. He had no energy to do much of anything. Whats worse is my Dad thought he was faking being sick for so long and was making him go to school.

By the way MB I have read that ACV, honey and cocnut oil help with Mono
