Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

A nice hot chocolate with some rum or chocolate liquor would be great after all the work you will be doing Melabella... I hope you don't have to big of an area to shovel.
I did have a nice hot chocolate, temps starting to drop here...28 now. Too big of an area?

A BIT TOO MUCH FOR MY LIKING!!

Melabella how is your son and his frat brothers all doing?
Son is still feeling very tired, but sono of his spleen shows the swelling has gone down. His sore throat is better. Mono just very hard to get over if you don't sleep and eat well. His two friends still getting over the flu... haven't returned yet.... Thank you for thinking of them!

Ok, out to finish up in the barn and bring the horses in, close the coop door. They have been staying out till about 5:05, 5:10 lately!

snow again here too... the chickens are MAD!!! it literally had finally melted off yesterday, they were so happy to have free range again, they were almost impossible to herd in! no more. back to an ice pond driveway and snow piled high. sigh.

that is the greatest photo! i am paying full price on batteries if i have to, tomorrow.... the only thing keeping me from sticking one in there. AND thanks to your photo, i no longer feel guilty about to small a nest box... if three fit into yours, i am all set ;) !

hope all with the ailments are feeling healthier everyday...turkeys included!

and on the egg front, still 'just' one a day, every day... and on about a any time between 8-3pm schedule, she's like the cable guy! are other's ladies more regular? time wise?

Did my last check for today. No new egg layers. But yet still more footage of chickens curious about the nesting boxes. So maybe you're right MB, perhaps my egg floodgate will open any day now!

I'm not going to use the video setting on the camera in my coop again. Yesterday it captured 61 thirty second videos. That's only 30 minutes. I could easily sit in my coop and watch my chickens for 30 minutes, but it was too much on the computer screen. So I switched back to still shots, but I forgot to set it only to daytime. I wound up with 1287 pictures of my chickens roosting last night. haha They're cute, but not that cute. I deleted them.

So many folks are sick this winter! Both of my kids got a terrible stomach flu over Christmas. My daughter threw up at a Christmas party, and my 15 year old son threw up on Christmas Eve, in the middle of Lovefeast! (Moravian Christmas Eve service) Luckily, it was my boyfriend's parents' church, so he didn't know anyone there, but I think it was a pretty traumatic teenage experience. He ruined 3 or 4 hymnals. I have been luckily disease-free thus far this winter. *knock on wood*

Trust me I like the sunny weather but I would rather it be around 55. Brooster I think tomorrow you are gonna get 3 eggs.

If my kids listened to me like the chickens do I would be a motivational speaker, but any speeches I give to them usually produce opposite reactions!

I now have 2 ISA Browns, 2 RIR and 2 Americana's laying. I'm so happy. Thanks to all of you for telling me to hang in there because they are starting to come out good now. I filled out first carton of 18 yesterday(we have had more eggs but we have eaten them...YUM) and with todays collection I am almost thru another carton of 1 dozen and a grand total of 29 eggs. I think by monday I will have my first dozen to give away!

I don't know what kind Brooster has but there are basically two types of game cams. The old style uses a white light flash much like a camera and the newer ones have infrared flash that show no flash at all. I am assuming that she has the latter because it would look like a lightning storm inside the coop otherwise! Happy egg hunting tomorrow.
