Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

I don't know what kind Brooster has but there are basically two types of game cams. The old style uses a white light flash much like a camera and the newer ones have infrared flash that show no flash at all. I am assuming that she has the latter because it would look like a lightning storm inside the coop otherwise! Happy egg hunting tomorrow.

must be right there....what are we doing awake? School comes far too quickly.

Yes fortunately mine has the infrared flash. You can't even tell when it's taking pictures. So the camera probably didn't keep them up, but they are aware that it's there. This chicken in particular likes to photobomb about every third shot.

So now they've raised our forecast to 9" of "wet, heavy" snow. Ugh. Good for making snowmen, bad for shoveling. I have a friend who makes snow sculptures when we have snow like this. Look at this snow chicken he made! I want one in my yard!

Love both pics! Somethin tells me the perimeter of that chicken is going to be yellow soon. I was laughing yesterday , I could forensically see Jackson's preffered pee spots in the fresh snow.

Heading out late to let chickens out... They are going to be mad at me!

Oh man,, I just typed out a whole response,, and forgot to hit submit.. and now it's gone.. HATE when that happens!

Basicallly it said... cute pics...love the snowbird. Lots of them in florida!

Heading out late to let the birds out. Do any of you have automatic doors?

Yes MB there are plenty of snowbirds in Florida this time of year. I have noticed that alot of them are really similar to a rooster. Cranky in the morning when they get up, they think they own everything, always flapping their wings and squawking about something, and constantly challenging you about how they can do it better!

I think my first layer is taking a break today, she sat in the box like every other morning except no egg this morning!

Thats ok, she deserves a day off she has laid for 15 straight days(I'm so proud of her).

On another note our county fair starts today and I will be heading there with the family tonight to watch the swine show. A friend of ours daughter has a pig entered so we are going to see the judging tonight. The main reason I brought this up is that they also have poultry there as well and as many years as I have been going there, I have never cared about the chickens, but this year I will be spending alot of time there. I'm so excited.

Got the batteries for the trail cam and set it up in the living room to see what my poodle does when alone lol. Need to make something in the coop to put it in there. Mine says it will wake at 5am but not sure how long it goes? Guess I better read some more. Took the nesting boxes out till they get used to the roost. Sleeping in the nests :( what a mess. Now with the cam I can see when they're getting close to laying.

Today there were zero eggs, but I'm not surprised. This blizzard is insane! The chickens are all huddled together in what I call the coop annex. It's a section I added on to the coop to use as a brooder for older chicks. It's warmer than the main coop, but I rarely see them use it.

Debbie, I actually had friends who used a trail cam to watch their dogs. One of the dogs was eating the couch while they were at work, and they couldn't figure out which one. The footage they caught was pretty hilarious. Turned out all three dogs were eating the couch.

crud! I just went out to give my girls some scratch and as I was walking away I heard a funny noise. like someone squeaking a dog toy. I turned around to find Phoebe (the only one laying semi regular) sneezing. At least I think that was a sneeze. She did it 4 times. Just hoping she got dust or something in her nostrils and she is not getting sick or something.
