Hey Guys, Lemon is doing fine. Acted completely normal today except for no egg! Maybe i'm just being overprotective dad! On a positive note I got 8 eggs today!
Brooster, I am sorry to hear about the flood, keeping you guys in our prayers. Gotta run for now.

What a crazy night! We are all fine this morning, chickens included. Thanks for all your kind thoughts!
The water continued to rise until about 10 last night, when the rain tapered off. We waded out periodically to check the water level, the chickens, and our neighbors. The BF stayed with friends in town. This morning, the water has receded some, leaving about 3 inches standing in most of the yard, and inside the chicken coop. It is frozen solid, and now covered with 3 inches of snow. I let the chickens out of the shed, and they ran through the snow back to the coop, which is basically a hockey rink on the inside. Not knowing what else to do, I covered the ice with a layer of bedding. It is going to be the nastiest mess when it thaws out in a few days! There is all kinds of trash that washed up and froze into the ice, including a gas can, and someone's lawn mower. It looks really funny. Also our septic field flooded, and smells delightful.
The bridge is still covered in water, but will probably be passable by noon. When I drove across the water covered bridge last evening (yeah I know...not the smartest move), the force of the water took my muffler! So I need to make a noisy drive into town later to get a new one.I'm lucky, apparently there were lots of moving water car rescues yesterday.
This has been the craziest January weather-wise that I can remember!
Red, so glad to hear Lemon is ok.
Congrats on all the eggs, bulk feed purchases, etc!
