Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

Hi I am also anxiously waiting. I have 1 light sussex, 1 Australorp both 20 weeks and 2 rir bantams who are 25 weeks old and none are laying. I am in Sydney Australia and we are just getting some cooler weather. Hopefully they will start laying before Autumn. If they don't lay does anyone know if they will likely hold off until next spring.

Welcome 16paws, I have 4 dogs... 3 min pins and 1 pitbull. I love my dogs and know how it feels to lose one. My bro-in law just lost his pitbull named Miracle who was 13 years old. She was a sweetheart of a dog, she never barked at anyone, I mean anyone could of walked in his home.

Nakstk, do you have hawks in your area?? I hate to think the worst but I nearly lost one of my girls to a chicken hawk the other day while I was out watching them forage. They managed to scramble when they heard the other chickens send out the warning. It came right down in the yard but went back up without a meal. It really sucks that we can't look over them every minute they are out.

My girls are all 22weeks old and only 2 are laying, so I did get my 2 egss again today. I so want them all to be laying. Used all of my fresh eggs so I had to go and buy eggs. I was not happy. :-( My eggs taste sooooo much better. Looking forward to 8-9 eggs a day.:fl

Yeah! It is official 22 weeks old and everyone is laying now! I have 5 22 week old comets and 11 10 month old comets and today I got 16 eggs which means everyone laid! I am so excited. Now I am going to have to invest in some more egg cartons.

Had a Great day outside working in the yard. All the ladies and "Rosco" the Kung-Fu Rooster roamed around and had a great day playing in the dirt and leaves. It was around 70 Degrees, I do feel bad for all of you talking about snow and freezing conditions. im soo sorry. Come visit if you want to thaw out!! I posted a couple Pics. I hope they posted ok.
Can anyone tell me what kind of Bird "Rosco" is? He was our mystery bird we recieved. We arent sure yet.
Hope everyone has a great week.

Welcome to the group :) The wait is the hardest part :( We have 8 girls and only 2 are laying. 1 (Welsummer) started at 33 weeks and the other (BA) at 29. Now I have 2 at 25 weeks, 2 at 19 weeks, and 2 born Oct 31. Spread out so all kind of surprises coming LOL We buy our bull and trim from Austrailia, always tell when you guys are in spring because our ground beef grind is very watery. I work for a wholesale meat company. I think you still have time for them to start laying before winter :)
