Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

I've got 27 girls who are 16 weeks old right now. Got a ways to go, but it's exciting to watch them mature into lovely ladies!
Hi Chicksurreal,,

What kind of breeds do you have? Before long you'll be rolling in eggs! Keep us posted!

Wow is right... that looks really big. Congrats on your 3 egg day.
My girls are still mostly on vacation which I am very okay with. We had a 0 egg day but mostly 1 egg days. But Winter Solstice is this Sunday, which means egg production should pic up just after that...

A bit off topic but does anyone sell their excess eggs to neighbours etc? I've got a flock of 6 Australorp/ISA pullets which will be laying soon... and I don't think I'll be able to get through 40ish eggs a week so was thinking of selling them? How much do people charge for a dozen/half a dozen/per egg? How long do eggs keep for from backyard chickens? Do you have to refrigerate them? Also I've heard that if you do sell eggs to never wash them or brush them off?? Thanks! :)

I am so excited! My RIR started to squat this morning so now I am waiting on pins and needles in the hopes an egg is coming in the next few weeks! She is 23 weeks old today!

Mine squatted a few weeks back and they all started to lay 2 - 5 days after the squat, so not long! Congrats... I just thought I'd amp you up even more!

CCsChickens... I sell off my eggs when I have enough. I take them to work, friends of a friend.... once I took some to a yard sale. I have also given a lot to friends in need. But most of the time I take excess eggs to work... Again, some buy some people I help out if I can... A little extra egg money helps support our chicken addiction
