Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

Pics of the rescued chickens

I've had them now for 5 days and only one is not looking good healthwise, i'm treating her maybe she will be ok. They are very happy with the freedom and the new home.

Awww, poor girls. I'm sure they're much happier now. I hope the hen that's doing poorly perks up soon.

Been waiting for several weeks now. But as you would have it: On Christmas morning I received two, yes two eggs. That was followed by two more this evening.

I Love my chickens!

RobJones, here is a link to a blog about rehabilitating chickens in poor health. It is a LOT of reading, I must say. It covers an entire month of almost daily updates on the chickens improving health. I found it encouraging to see and read about the progress that they can make in such a short amount of time.

I just got some chickens from Craigslist, which I believe have scaly leg mites, so I trying out the method mentioned on this blog. I'm hoping I get the great results she did!

Almost 2 weeks in there new enviroment and they are loving it, laying very well getting 12, 13, a day from 15 ladies I think is good. They meet me at the gate when its feeding time they are getting cheeky, they see me coming from 20m away and start jumping upand down, still have the one that is sick but I saw her eating and drinking yesterday so maybe she will make it.

I got 21 eggs from 29 girls today and its only 2pm could get more, the girls are doing great

Has anyone been able to figure out the pecking order of their chickens? We have four and it's very clear as to the leader but we haven't yet been able to figure out the second, third, and fourth in command. Mrs. Butterworth is the head of the pack in our backyard flock and it's very obvious as she keeps a tight reign on the others and has no problem disciplining the others when she feels it necessary. We call her 'Mrs. B' for short and the 'B' doesn't always stand for 'Butterworth' if you catch my meaning. Just wish we could tell the order of the other three.
