Any Rabbit Breeders/Owners Here at BYC?

Pics
Welcome to the "Any Rabbit Breeders/Owners Here at BYC" thread!

I am an avid animal lover and breeder. My 2nd favorite animal are chickens, but can anyone guess what my 1st favorite is? Rabbits!! Always has been.
And since I cannot find a online Rabbit group like BYC, I thought for sure that there would be rabbit owners/breeders on here!
So, let's talk in the comments!

Questions:
1) How many rabbits do you own?

2) How long have you had rabbits? Or Rabbit?

3) What's your top favorite breed?

4) Why did you get your rabbit(s)?

5) (If you breed (or have bred in the past) Why did you start (or stop) breeding rabbits?

6) What's your rabbit(s) name(s)?

7) What breed(s) are/is your rabbit(s)?

8) Why did you choose the breed you did?

Thank you! And please join me in the comments! I am looking forward to hearing your all's stories!

Come on let's get more bunny onwers/breeders here! I'm tagging the people I know has bunnies!😊

Hello!

1) We currently have 12 rabbits. I have 1 buck and 2 proven breeders, a doe that is hopefully pregnant with her first litter, an up and coming buck and doe, and 5 that we are growing out for the freezer.

2) We started out with our first breeding trio about a year ago.

3) We breed TAMUK rabbits. If you are unfamiliar, that stands for Texas A&M university Kingsville, and they are a meat composite. They are bred to be more heat tolerant for the harsh summers here in Texas. I had a Holland lop as a pet when I was a kid and he was amazing.

4) We got our rabbits so that we could grow our own meat supply.

5) We started breeding rabbits for meat. My daughter is also in her first year of 4H and will be showing a pen of rabbits that we bred.

6) Our original buck is Archimedes, and our two original does are Ruby and Jewel. We added Diamond as another breeding doe and our young buck is Thumper. We have a young doe as well, but she is still unnamed. Our grow outs aren't named.

7) TAMUK

8) We chose our breed because they produce large litters and have lower fertility issues during heat spells. They are also much more heat tolerant than other meat breeds.

We need pictures.
We love pictures.

The homestead husbands up the road used to breed TAMUKs but sold them all off to concentrate on Creme and Champagne d'Argents.

I was just looking at the TAMUKs on Google, that little Harlequin baby is adorable 😍

When we are able to expand the rabbitry the way we want, my husband really wants champagnes and cremes. They are beautiful.

Atlas Homestead in Cooper, TX is one of the few breeders in the state with registered stock. I think they got some of theirs from the Raschers in Grapeland, TX.
