Any thoughts on this polish?

If your house is at the end of a long driveway, then they probably won't hear it - unless they are actually outside. We only live on about 3 acres tops, and the houses are only about 75-100 feet apart right here (most of the land is wooded, behind us). But our neighbors to either side don't hear the roosters crow when they are indoors, and our chickens stay in the back yard. The house to the south of us even sits further back away from the road than ours, so they are somewhat closer to the chickens than we are. But they don't hear them. And we can't hear them from the front of the house if they are actually in their pen.

When they are loose and free-roaming, everyone has the possibility of hearing them... except those across the road. For some reason, my chickens DO NOT cross the road (go figure!)

Maybe they don't like the feel of the asphalt? Lol

I'm going to see if I can dig up the photos of my Gold Laced Polish Roo when he was growing up. That should help you out.

But I recently wiped my computer completely clean, so I'm not sure if those photos were backed up or not. I have to dig through the laptop files.

I think I'm more worried about what my DH will do if it is in fact a roo! I think he would send it to freezer camp, he would not be a fan of crowing! He is barely tolerating the chickens as is so I'm afraid a roo will not work out here. And of course I am completely attached to him/her and will try to make it work out if she is a roo!

This is when I wasn't quite sure if he was going to be a roo or hen. His crest is looking all soft and fluffy. But if you look at his face (what little it shows in these photos) it's clear and easy to see. His eyes aren't covered at all.

But the pullets had their eyes covered from the first actual feathers they got in. So as hard as it was to tell at the time, the clean face told me this was probably a roo.

And sure enough, that's what he became!

Oh boy, you can definitely see my polish's face very easily as well!! Here are a few updated pictures from yesterday. She/he stands up very erect at times and I swear I am waiting for the first attempts at crowing, but haven't heard anything yet!
