I knew there were solutions out there from all of you brilliant ones!!

Yes, that coop will be in the run. We just finished the run, but the grounds too muddy to move it inside...I put the kennel in there on the weekend but these poor birds sat in the kennel all day and spent about 10 minutes in the run They lived for 2 yrs in that coop w/o a run so when I was offered the coop I took the hens too

Jim: I was thinking cardboard and duct tape, since I'm the Queen of Duct Tape! DH just laughed when I mentioned it. I wonder if they'd peck it

Foam board on the outside might do it too--never thought of that!

BeardedChick Oh, we're so proud of that run, thank you

However, you are causing me great angst. I want a bigger coop now, now now--won't happen, shoot. Spring, maybe!!

OK, weather stripping, cardboard, foamboard, hay bales and political signs--it won't look like a cute little barn anymore but it will be unique, right?? I'll get on it tomorrow

Thanks so much everyone... yeah, even you BeardedChick

They will peck foam board, and ingest it! I think the plastic poster board ( like cardboard) is a better option, pluse sezaling the cracks. Be very careful- chickens will drag strips of caulk out to play with and they'll eat it too.. Another option is to re-sheathe the outside of the coop with plywood or OSB.
