PineappleMama: I never thought about Arya's magic being green .. I had forgotten that! I bet Eragon will marry her ... what do you bet?
When Galby dies then that will release Murtagh and everyone else from his evil spells so I wonder .... another thing I wondered about was Galby's Black Dragon! What will happen to him?

Warning, Spoilers Possible... highlight at your own risk.

^Galby and Shuriken are not linked in the same way as a normal dragon and rider... so if Galby died it's possible that S would feel nothing but relief at being released from the prison... possibly insane, but I doubt he'd seek revenge against the one that killed his Rider as he wasn't a true rider, but a Master. Now if S was killed before Galby, that could be useful. It would certainly mean a drop in his power, as no doubt S has been fueling him along with the 'others'... particularly nice if he's been separated from those 'others'... but again, their link is not the normal one so I doubt that it would 'break' Galby... except for a drop in energy, and making him REALLY mad to have his favorite toy broken... I don't think it would shatter him like it did many Riders.

As to M... yeah I reckon killing Galby is the only way to free him... he's too darn stubborn to change himself, and quite likely Galby has plans in place even if he did manage it. After seeing how Selena was able to wiggle out of her oaths to Morzan, thus the whole Brom thing, Eragon existing, etc... he may not know about Brom's full part in that, but he does know that she managed to carry, birth, and hide her son totally from Morzan and him for over 15 years... and that to do that she had to betray oaths in the ancient language... and the only way to do that is to change her name... so yeah, I just bet he's got a plan for if M figures that out.

Ohhh what do y'all think The Word is? I'm guessing it's the true name of Magic... or perhaps even the true name for the world itself. Absolute control. Sounds like something he'd go for. What I'm curious about is if Tenga is searching for the same... and if Eragon, or even Angela, might not pay him a visit to see if that IS his question and whether he's found the answer.

Come on Paolini... at least a HINT as to when we'll get 4th book in the TRIlogy... *nudge*

I still think Eragon and Nasuada are going to get together. I don't think the green dragon egg is going to hatch for Arya either. My first guess would be Roran, but my instincts tell me it's going to be a woman, so maybe Nasuada.

I agree the movie was a HORRIBLE portrayal. They screwed the story line up so bad! Where was the werecat? They become so important later on! And did anyone else imagine Angela as a hot young babe when they were reading the book? I didn't. And what was up with the chemistry between Arya and Eragon?! It wasn't like that AT ALL in the book. I can't believe Chris approved of that movie. In order to do another movie without screwing it up they'd have to go back and completely redo the first.

At least OCC made a freaken cool Eragon bike for the movie's release. That ws my favorite bike they ever did.

Warning again....

^I thought about Roran too, esp with his interest in magic, but for the dragons to continue Saphira has to mate with the last one... and given that Eragon and her are linked so closely it would be down right WEIRD for the other rider to be a guy... particularly his cousin... if those feelings of love/hate are shared as they indicate.

Thus agree, gotta be a female Rider for the male dragon. Nasuada, suppose is as possible as any other female. But, she didn't show any interest in Eragon... but IMO did have a thing for Murtagh brewing. I've never noticed ANY kind of chemistry between the two of them at all. Not that she doesn't have an awesome character, and would make an admiral Rider... but she loathes magic... I donno, she'd have to pretty well pull a 180 on that... and totally transfer her feelings for M over to E, and totally abandon the Varden... remember that Eragon WILL eventually leave... the boat, two dragons, the curses along with Eragon's 'vision' indicate that. So, she'd have to abandon the Varden in order to leave with him... possible... maybe leave Roran in charge? But again, it would be 180 from her earlier feelings of 'until I die'... but if Galby is deposed then that could change... so yeah, agree it's possible, but don't think it's likely.

Arya is much more likely. As the chemistry between A&E already exist... they're already expecting/accepting of the long life ahead of them. Nasuada is merely human, while Arya is an Elf and Eragon has been transformed nearly into one. Species wise I think Arya makes more sense. Relationship to Saphira I think Arya makes more sense... as they already have had a LONG bond, and a current 100% trusting one. Even with Eragon being hurt by Arya Saphira still trusts her totally. That says a lot. While Nasuada respects Saphira, I don't think she has half the relationship with her that Arya has... and that's pretty well vital for the whole shared feelings mate thing...

If that makes sense. I don't know for sure what color the final egg is, but I wouldn't be the least surprised to find that it's green, matching Arya... and that it hasn't hatched for anyone because Arya has never been near that egg. Just imagine if it'd been that egg, rather than Saphira that had been stolen... but that's a major tangent. Now, if that egg turns out to be any color but green... definitely a different story... then who knows? Even green it could still end up being someone else... I see Roran as a green person for some reason... but goes back to the first thought... it's just be WEIRD... I can't picture Nasuada using magic, but even if she did I don't see green... or blue... or red... perhaps purple, yellow or even brown... should the egg be one of those colors, Nasuada's odds definitely go up to me... dern it why couldn't we get that one little tidbit?!!? Gah!

If I was writing it... HA! They'd defeat Galby... find the GREEN egg, that hatches for Arya... and those four fly off to find the Vault of Souls...

Based on the vision ... I think Zar'oc gets shattered, and Thorn dies... leaving M wandering in a Dragonless world...

I worry though that Nasuada may die in the battle... and that Stronghammer will be chosen in her place... somehow I just see Roran ending up the MORTAL king... natural leader... earns the trust of his men... but also proven in combat with Urgal... so able to work peace with them too... Katrina who even bedraggled has that "something" about her... but, for that to happen I fear Nasuada would have to die... which sucks... or... I guess Katrina could die and Roran get together with Nasuada... also sucks... I don't know... maybe Nasuada will decide to go back to the wandering tribes... but I don't see that. She doesn't view herself as one of them, she sees the Varden as her family... *sigh* But, there is Orrin... maybe Roran/Katrina rule the Palancar area and Orrin and/or Nasuada rule Surda... with Urgals ruling their area... Elves having theirs... Dwarves having theirs... and free trade throughout?

Tick tick tick... I hate waiting.

Eragon was originally published in 2001... then Eldest came about in Aug 2005... a four year gap, but they self published first... Eragon was mass published in 2003... so depending (we donno) it took 2-4 years between the first two books. Then Brisingr came in Sept 2008... right at three years after Eldest... writing, editing, and printing... three years. So, if form follows we can guess on three years (if not four) before we see the fourth book... that'd be Fall 2011... so still a year off.

Googling there is "Book 4 (Inheritance Cycle)" on wikipedia... and WOOT I KNEW I had read about it being a GREEN dragon somewhere... glad I'm not crazy... Paolini made the comment that on the cover of the 4th book there WILL be a green one... logically that tells us that the 4th will be the egg... now as to how its hatch comes about... who knows... but green is confirmed... definitely leaning Arya... more of that interview... http://www.shurtugal.com/n/760 which is where I'm off to now.

^OHhhh now wouldn't THAT be interesting?

Before I don't know if she could... given her affliction, but now that it's been removed?

Oh an interesting ponder indeed.

Of course, should a mortal be the one to strike the killing blow (Roran, Nasuada, etc) than that person could very well claim the throne... and be supported in it. We know Eragon doesn't want it, and that it'd be a disaster to kill 'immortal' Galby just to put another 'immortal' in the hot seat... HAS to be a human to take the human throne... ohhh darn but if this isn't going to be interesting.

I have to keep reminding myself though... so many possibles before the last HP came out too... and while some were correct, some not mentioned, others total surprise... and some bits were down right horrible (the deaths)... well I'm trying not to get my hopes up... because then I might not enjoy the story as much as possible you know?

Even worse with WoT... that story has been twenty years in the making... though I wasn't sucked into it until a few years back... plowed through those books... 11 books in 12 days... and only then when I reached for 12 and it wasn't there realized I had to wait... oh I was SO mad... DH didn't warn me... and why wouldn't I think that after that many books it'd be done? So, here I sit. I've reread WoT and Eragon and HP several times since... just reread these three Tues-Thurs which is why it's so fresh in my mind... and I enjoy it when I reread them (no more than once per year though) but it does have a habit of just bringing the impatience to the surface... gah!

*sends happy writing vibes to Sanderson and Paolini*

Of course, it's always possible a NEW character will be introduced in the last book that the green dragon could hatch for. Wouldn't it be something if Galby had a daughter or something?! And THAT is the one the egg hatches for and Eragon and Saphira end up with?! I could see Nasuada and Murtagh gettin together to rule the kingdom.

Im leaning away from Arya because it seems to make TOO much sense. I actually would like to believe she dies in the last book. Wouldn't THAT be a twist! The reason I was leaning towards Nasuada is she has changed a lot through the course of the books because of her father's death and her desire to lead her people. She will do anything for them. Also, in the movie (which I don't lean too much on) There was a scene where Nasuada walked in on Eragon shirtless and kind of smirked at him. There was DEFINITLY a spark of chemistry there. It made me wonder if that was a scene the screen writers picked up on in the book that maybe I missed? I mean, Eragon and Saphira both think highly of Nasuada. IDK, too many loose ends....

The movie did NOT follow the book, so I don't expect the author to write based on anything that happened in the movie. Fact is these books are written for 6-8th graders (according to AR ratings)... meaning they aren't just dripping with adult content... so, to get adults to watch they had to throw in something... and that was it I guess. They totally botched that whole thing... and thanks to that I imagine quite a few potential readers were lost. Had they done a decent job of it it could have promoted not only Eragon, but also the rest of the series. Instead it bombed, didn't engage filmers and just peeved readers. IMO anyways.

I hear you on the "too much sense" thing... that's the ONLY thing that worries me about that theory... it would wrap up nicely... but perhaps TOO nicely... so... yeah. As to chemistry... well there was the holding while she grieved thing at the end of Brisingr... so... that's a start... I just don't think there's enough TIME, with one book left, for Eragon to pull a 180 on his feelings for her and find someone else to become attached to... that also will have to be a rider and willing to leave the country forever...

Galby reproducing... *shudder* if that was the case I imagine he'd have already had that kid around the egg plenty. I can understand not letting M near until he was actually NEEDED, too paranoid... plus Galby doesn't trust ANYONE, ever... and he hates to share... I just can't imagine him as a father... but then, Morzan was so who knows. Entirely possible. Theoretically by the 75% mark (book 3 of 4) all the main characters are typically introduced... rare to introduce a new 'main' character after that point... even at the 2/3 or 1/2 mark isn't all that common, but it does happen. I donno, with only one book left, and all these loose ends to tie up...

Dern I hate waiting... why I make such a bad patient.

I could never see Murtagh and Nasuada getting together!

My brother thinks that Murtagh is going to die .. if that happens I'll be a very very sad person!

In the movie I think they did Eragon & Murtagh okay, and maybe Roran as well, but as always in movies dragon's have "Feathers!"
