Cindi, can he drive? I would encourage him, if he can, to check out local transit agencies. Many, many transit agencies contract out their operations - drivers, maintenance, etc., - so the rules are different from actually working for a government agency.

Not commercially. We looked into him getting his CDL's last time, and it's a no go for certain. With his health issue it really limits him. It sucks.

He would only need a B, not an A.

Anyone who has a class A or class B CDL has to have a yearly physical. If you do not pass it, and they check EVERYTHING, you loose your license.

What about maintenance?

He seriously ONLY knows construction. Been working it since he was 14.

What about around the house? Does he fix stuff? Ken doesn't.

Yeah.. i showed it to hubby..
It would be perfect for him... and we live right here in MA already...
Is it a union job?? We're worried we'll just be in the SAME boat we're in now.(hes in a sheet metal union now).. no work... and then you cant take a non-union (sheet metal job) or you have to pay back $ all the "training" they give you for "free".( over $10,000 i believe).
So... basically he HAS to take some $10 an hour job and wait for the union to call him back to work.
OR switch careers totally and start over.... but how do you go back to school when you cant pay your mortgage?? You cant... its not reality.

Would it be the same situation likes hes in now? When work runs low what do these guys do?? He IS interested in it though...

yeah

Ok, turn him towards maintenance positions. Think outside the box. What is he GOOD at. Send him to those jobs. You could be surprised at what God has in store for you. It could be why he lost this one so fast. Stop and listen.
