Anybody setting eggs this weekend? (4-25-15)

So here we are 7 days after hatch, and I just needed somewhere to vent about chick feeders/waterers. Both of mine (seen in my profile pic) worked great for like 3 day-olds, but after that both started getting filled with wood chips...and since I am using fermented chick starter, it soaked the chips...which means the chicks are more than likely eating wood! And while a single container of water is supposed to last a week or more, I have to change it several times a day due to the chips in the water.

So I put them both on top of pieces of wood, and the problem is solved, for now, but they've started to scratch and kick wood chips all over the brooder...so I don't now how long this will last.
Anyway, these things should come with adjustable legs

YES!!! My problem with them is that the feeder was getting tipped over every day so I wired it to the wall. Now they just scoop all the food out with their beaks onto the floor! I'm positive ninety percent of the food is lost in the bedding! Grrrr ....

This chick feeder helps with that. You put your own mason jar over top and the little bittys can't push it over, scratch it around or nada. It is maybe possible to get poop on the inside but just take off the jar and fish it out. I would pour the bottom meal into a bowl carefully first. Solves most problems.

I found the one that does not work with an inverted jar makes it too easy for them to walk across the flat top and poop in any hole. The water I did the same with the block of wood. Later I had to resort to punching a hole in the cardboard and designing a way to get a bird dish to hang at shoulder level for them. A wire cage when older was easy enough. Any will do but I like this one

stainless steel, easy to clean and lasts forever. I don't work for Amazon, No!

So the hatch-a-long is clearly over, but nobody has posted suggested other threads to follow to get your chicks up and running.
Mine are now 2 weeks old, are there any suggested threads to read or follow?
I would love to know this as well. My little guys are 2 weeks too and I love getting to watch them grow up. I'll check back in to see if anyone has found anything. Good thinking!!!

Wow, mine are only 2 days older and they have way more feathers and seem bigger. I can't post a pic from my kindle but I will tomorrow when I'm on my laptop. Do you know if those buckeyes are all males? (Sorry if you said any of this in the video, I had the volume off)
