Anybody setting eggs this weekend? (4-25-15)

Whoops, I'm a moron, I thought I was posting in the April Hatchalong. Here is my update for the weekend of 4/25 set: A couple of the Polish were cracked and one broken. I tried candle wax. I don't see anything going on in those, but not giving up hope just yet. It's basically impossible to see anything in the BCM eggs, so I'm hoping for the best.

I'm doing BCM eggs next and that is exactly what I'm worried about!! When you shine the light down into the aircell can you see any veins attached to the aircell? Can you even see the aircell? I'm really curious for when I do them. I'm trying to get local but all the really dark ones with quality breeding lines are online! I always seem to try things the difficult way. Shipped BMC's....that should be a challenge! ;)

My eggs are now on day 7. I think I might candle them tonight, maybe tomorrow since it is getting late. Im excited to see how they are doing:)

I can just barely see the air cell. One egg was light enough to see a blood ring

I candled last night. Started with 26 Barred Plymouth Rock eggs and 8 Midget White turkey eggs. After candling, 24 BPR eggs are developing well, I had 1 clear and 1 ? Also all 8 turkey eggs are developing well.

Candled last night (Day 6) and see moving embryos! Such an exciting big step.
I can't believe in two weeks I'll be setting up a brooder again... it goes by fast.

What is a blood ring? Is it a good or bad thing?
Bloodrings are not good. It is when an embryo starts to develop and then quits after a few days. Often it is caused due to bacteria entering the egg. I believe what we see in a bloodring is a ring of bacteria. Someone please correct me if this is inaccurate.
