I knew there was differences between Ameraucanas and EEs but I was still spelling it wrong until someone clued me in.

I'm sure theres several out there that spell them wrong and still know the difference just havent been told correct info.

To me its just like how people spell and pronounce the quail I breed Coturnix Quail... people spell it wrong AND say it wrong. It gets under my skin but most just really didnt know any better. Doesn't mean they dont have that quail it just means they haven't stumbled upon the correct spelling or info yet. I also was spelling Orpingtons wrong before and yep I passed all my spelling classes. Soo...just saying.

Can I ask why you Ameraucana owners are so picky about the spelling? Its just the spelling, I know folks that cant spell Rhode Island Reds, but the own a crap load of purebred RIRs.

1. I had several martinis before posting that.

2. It's not so much the spelling, or misspelling, that's so bad...it's the foolios on ebay/eggbid that sell EE eggs as Ameraucanas. And the fact that the commercial hatcheries still sell EE peeps as Ameraucanas. I mean, Ameraucanas have been in the APA for like 20+ years now...it's time to get with the program.

Sorry for beginning a sentence with "and".
