Well we hunt Deer and wild Hogs...it is not easy to confuse the two with a cat...my DH has seen both puma/cougar colored and black...and come almost face to face with one...dont tell him that they dont exsist...Texas parks and wildlife gamewardens know they are here...we spoke to one and he said "yep there here alright but nobodys ever brought one in"(from our area)

I love the way the authorities like to deny the existence of big cats. I believe they do it to keep panic down. If you admit a cat is anywhere near a city people will want government action. It tickles me about the black bears found in Roswell GA just north of Atlanta. People complain about them then the state wastes taxpayer money to capture and move them to Dalonega just to pacify the city people. I wonder how many times they have to move the same darned bears? They just can't accept the fact that northern Metro Atlanta is part of the bears territory. I think when the government denies the existence of the cats they are doing it to avoid the kind of nonsence I just mentioned.

There are something like 15,000-20000 privately owned large cats in the US. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to believe that there may be breeding feral populations that originated in the pet trade. Around here we have enough deer to keep many a big cat fed. Jaguargundis have also been mentioned as a endigenous black "panther". It is (or was) native to Texas, Arizona and New Mexico; and considering the unchecked deer population it could be expanding its range......

or it could be a wonderful urban myth

Well I see it like this. There are populations of big cats in the north as far as alaska. Ther are also populations of big cats in the south in Mexico. Who is to say that they aren't moving south and north to their native lands again. I know for a fact that Florida released some type of cat that was crossbred witha cougar to rehabitate an area there that used to have been big cats. Bet they would deny it now but I saw about it on the television.

Did you take him to the vet? He probally has a slow motabolism (sp?). My dog had been on a diet for almost a year and he actually GAINED wieght. The vet tested him and gave us pills to stimulate his motabolism. He has already lost 20 pounds.

Can I get any of that....?
