Anyone do lots of home canning/food preserving?

katiesarahsmom, how'd your pickles come out? What kind were they? Hope all went well!

I finally got a jar lifter for a little over $3.00! And I didn't get it at Wal-mart!

I also invested in a meat grinder for my Kitchen Aid Mixer since it was on sale. (I guess that could be another thread, tho.)
 
Just finished putting up 24 quarts of pickled beets

I'm putting out more jalepeno plants today...we've gone thru 27 quarts of jalepeno relish.

Sarabeth..try adding a few jalepenos to some of your sweet relish. we use Hot-Sweet relish on lots of dishes. Has a nice kick.

Good use for the meat grinder....Last year we made chowchow from all the season end veggies including green tomatoes.....made 3 gallons. Made some with jalepenos and it is GREAT.

Well I haven't opened a jar of the plum jam yet but the left over I put in the tuperware got the family's approval. lol I got the "look" (the one that says "that's good stuff") from hubby.

Yes we grow zucchini every year. I just need to plant more for the stuff I want to jar.
 
I have not read all the pages but found ya cause someone mentioned chowchow do you have a recipe? thats been tried and ya like?
also looking for a bread & butter pickle recipe, or sweet relish
