[IMG][IMG][IMG] Yep...I am crazy about mushroom hunting! I live for it all year long....I clear my busy schedule for 3-4 weeks each April to devote to round the clock 'shroom hunting!

('' Dont call me to babysit, you know I am mushroom hunting right now!! '')
We hunt the morels here and the beefsteaks when we can find them.
Is anyone in MO finding any right now?? I know they are in North ARK, near here...
I would love to hear if others are hunting them as well and how you are doing?
Anyway..gotta go pack my lunch, get my basket and head to the woods!! Cya all!! [IMG]

I used to go hunting for them in germany . I would love to go here to but i would need a babysitter and somebody who shows me which ones are safe. I know in germany i would pick the ones with a spongy bottom and when you cut them they would turn purple.

I have hunted for mushrooms before, but I don't like to eat them! I got some once and gave them to my dad ( he LOVES them). It tried to fry them for him the way he remembers his mom making them, but I just couldn't quite get it right.

This is going to be my second time trying- every year it's been poor conditions except when I worked dawn to dusk...this is my payoff for getting laid off, I think!

I'm so new I don't know where to look, but I know last year people were getting truckloads of morels from their secret spots...I just don't know the first thing about where that would be!

Down by the river I shall walk!

    Good luck!!
