We were the first on the block to get chickens (city allows them). Well the kids being the excited things they are, showed them off to thier friends who've watched them grow up to. Now there are 3 coops on my street and three more families are asking us about chicks (we got a roo, even though it was supposed to be all pullets). I'm starting to wonder if the parents are gonna come over with pitchforks (make that Iphones, this is the city).

Anyone else pushing chicks to city kids?

Yep! The girl who watches our birds when we are gone went to the county Farm Fair with us. She brought home a chick which is staying at my house for now. My DS best friend came over with his mom to look at our chickens and set up because they are thinking of getting some bantams. We always have the neighborhood kids in my backyard now especially when there are babies around!

My neighbor is building a coop as we speak. They have chicks from a classroom hatching project
and I just might have to enable them with some colored layers. he he

We don't live in the city, and I am not a bad influence on the neighborhood kids. The person I am a bad influence on is my sister, she wants some now. I think my BIL is not very happy with me right now.

ummmm yeah I am a very bad influence on them. Had one kid's mom call yesterday with a "chicken question" because her son was given 12 silkies.

We just finished up a birthday party, you should've seen the kids go nuts over the 2 day old quail.

Nonsense, no one on this block would be caught with a mere sidekick.
