Anyone Else as Stubborn or Cheap as Me?

We are on propane for heating the water heater, cooking and warming the house. Propane is over $3.50 a gallon. It really makes me mad when the kid is running around in t-shirt, boxers and barefooted complaining he's cold, then wants to take a 30 minute shower to warm up. I don't think so buddy, you wanna be warm, go pick up trash in the yard, put some clothes on!
As for saving money on other stuff I can almost always find it cheaper online. I just bought a pair of Stetson Stovepipe jeans straight leg for $56.00 dollars. Just found them a few days ago on Shepler's for........$19.00. I took the original pair back and bought those instead. Same thing with The Big Guy's wranglers and the feed/western store $37.99 found them at Denim express for $24.00. If it is not on sale I am not going to buy it, period. I really want to try couponing!

Thanks to menopause, I don't mind turning the heat way down at night, but during the day it needs to be at least 70 in our house. I don't mind wearing layers, but I don't like having cold feet, hands, or nose.

It was 29 out last night.... we survived the whole night with no heat.

If my chickens can do it, we can do it! LOL

Actually, we do the same here. I've got my heat set to come on if it gets super-low in the house (55 degrees), but it didn't come on last night - and the hose was frozen, so it definitely got below 32 degrees, LOL. Think it got down around 30 in the city, probably a couple degrees colder here.

WOW!!! 3.50/gallon! My gas company is currently charging $2.19/gallon -- the highest it's been all year. I'm going to need a fill up in the next couple of weeks. Hoping it drops - even if only a little. We get about two fill ups a year (sometimes 2.5 fill ups, if the winter was particularly long and harsh). I hate paying for propane, but everything in our home that can runs on propane.

little off topic......but around here you see people outside with sweet shirt , hoodies and coats........with shorts on CRAZY..To me if its cold enough for a coat ..put your long pants on.

We have a heat pump, which apparently tells Brandon that we can have the heat at 70*. I like it COLD when I sleep. Sleeping next to him is like it's own furnace. Don't understand why he can't just wear clothes at night!

Yeah & in the summertime, you can get the cold glass of ice water & squeeze the lemon slices in it that they put in there & add a packet of sugar & you have free lemonade!

(Yes -- guilty of doing this)!

We keep our thermostat on 60 in the winter & layer up around the house -- my husband is originally from Wisconsin so he knows how to keep warm! Me - I'm a native of La, but I look at this cooler air as FREE air conditioning -- & wish I knew a way to store it up for next summer!
