we got my sister, her husband and my new niece each a $25 gift card to stores(websites) they use and shop at. GameStop, iTunes and Target for my niece.
They gave us a $30 gift card to the movies and a picture of their daughter.
I am NOT going to spend more than that on them next year. well I will get my niece something nice.. Not her fault her mommy is like she is
Other than that. which really isnt a big deal.. it was a good Christmas

LOL you think your Christmas sucked?

I was hit by another car while driving home from the store 4 days before Christmas!! We had to walk up our 900ft driveway in the freezing cold on Christmas day from the stupid Honda Civic the rental company gave us that was so low the underside would have been destroyed if it had been able to get up our driveway.

Not to mention the dogs ate the turkey. Yeah, never thought it'd happen to us, you always see it happen on TV or in movies but SERIOUSLY speaking, I walked into the kitchen to find our 5 poodles ripping apart our turkey on the floor!!

And to top it all off, the dogs and cat have some incredible roundworm and only just found out after Quesi threw up her turkey, spaghetti worms included.

I don't see the point, if you're just going to exchange gift cards -- and especially if you're concerned about receiving equal value in return -- why bother? Just let everyone keep their own money for their own purposes, exchange kind words & good wishes instead.

What's wrong with a giftcard for the movies? It means that you won't have to spend money on some time for yourselves?

It was pretty cozy. Forgot to mention that Russell Stover chocolates were on sale so I picked up a few boxes of those for the day as well.

I think that the greatest disappointment was that it was MIL's birthday and we couldn't figure out how to get DH there for the day without risking further injury. Given the issues involved, she may pass before he's mobile again so that's pretty bad.

This is what I believe about Christmas, and if you are offended, just don't read it, OK? Moderators, if I have overstepped the boundaries, I apologize-

CHRISTmas. I have already been given, and am given every minute of my life, the greatest gifts that I could ever possibly receive.
Jesus. Forgiveness. Eternal life.
The hand of God reaching out for mine in all situations, at all times.
A fresh start every day.
Unconditional love even when I screw up - someone who knows me inside and out and loves me no matter what. (And believe me, I have sinned/screwed up in this life.)
Someone who loved me enough to die for me.
The knowledge that I am never alone, even during the bad times. (God never said there wouldn't be bad times, but He promises He will be with you IN them.)
So when I decorate and get or receive anything in the way of presents, it is fun, it is fine, but it is not the core of CHRISTmas. For me, it is a time, in awe and gratitude, to celebrate what I have already been given, and to see if I can give any of that love to others.
Reach UP, dear ones.
Blessings on you all.
