Anyone else drive a Ford truck & listen to classical music?

Hey!! Me, too! Where did you go to school? I attended University of South Florida for my undergrad, and was accepted at Julliard after that, but never attended - I chickened out - shall we say! Voice was my primary instrument (mezzo sop) - but I played piano as well....but never as well as I sang.

I miss it, and sometimes wonder "what might have been" but I love my life and don't dwell on it for very long.

I actually sang on the recording of the Mahler Symphony #8 with Robert Shaw and the Atlanta Symphony -that they were playing yesterday - back in 1991. It was an amazing experience, and I'll never forget it. http://www.amazon.com/Mahler-Symphony-No-Thousand/dp/B000003CXG

Favorite piano work: Grieg Concerto in a minor Looooooooooovvvvvvvve it!!

With the exception of rap, I listen to pretty much anything.

What's in my CD changer now:
#1-#4 Swedish viking metal
#5 Celtic music
#6 New Age

When it comes closer to summer, I'll probably pop in some classic rock. I usually listen to classical music in the winter more, Mannheim Steamroller too

The Posting quoted above reminded me of a story:

A doctor called a plumber to fix a leaky faucet. The plumber came out, unscrewed the top of the faucet, put in a new 0-Ring, screwed the faucett back together and handed the doctor a bill for $85.00

The doctor looked at the bill and said, "You haven't been here 5 minutes. I'm a doctor and I don't make THAT kind of MONEY ! "

The plumber replied, " I know what you mean. I didn't make THAT kind of money when I was a Doctor, either ! "

Ha-Ha !!!

I drive a Chevy mini van. I am planning on getting a '68 pickup from my brother soon, though, but don't ask me if it's a Ford or a Chevy. (Sorry!)

I have to admit I don't always listen to the radio when I'm driving. Sometimes I just like to listen to nothing. I love the quiet. Is that weird?

ChickyLaura,

My late wife liked to listen to nothing, also. She was originally from Pennsylvania, too.

I suppose it may be a "Regional" thing.

(I thought Pennsylvania was too "crowded" to be QUIET. )

I drive a VW golf and listen to Korn, Disturbed, Weezer, Crash Test Dummies, Live, Bjok, Jimi Hendrix, Train, Dead Can Dance and an assortment of blues along with my belly dance class music.

The last 2 songs I bought were Breakeven by The Script and What Do You Want From Me by Adam Lambert.

I basically listen to anything but country and opera. Well, I do have Hillbilly Bone on the Blackberry....so anything but opera

I think I have not heard of many of those artists

I am a confirmed nerd!

I, also, am not a big fan of opera...there are a few I like (Madame Butterfly, The Magic Flute, Carmen, and a few others), but I mostly listen to Oratorio works (if I'm listening to anything w/people singing).

I'm also not a big fan of 20th century music - it's a bit "out there" for me...I'm more a fan of Bach, Beethoven, and the older boys
