Anyone else freaked out your chicken will peck your face?

My little roo showed a great interest in mine and my boyfriends many freckles, also our eyelashes and my BF's goatee. what we did was use the universal noise for 'DON'T DO THAT!' the growly buzzer noise. In addition we said No or Don't, in the case of freckles it was 'That's a freckle dummy.' In tandem with the negative noise he seemed to get it and now if he does peck at me or something on me he does it very gently. I've sat and watched him pick feather sheathings off my arm after hes groomed and I can hardly tell that his beak is even touching me. Hope this helps.

Funny you should ask!! My chicks are almost completely feathered, and I was sitting in a lawn chair today with one on my shoulder going for my earrings. When I looked at him and asked what he thought he was doing, he got me in the eye. Never saw it coming!!! LOL Still smarts but I am ok!! That will teach me to look a chicken in the eye at that range!!

We've not been nailed in the eye yet, but last night my little Ester (BO) got one of our cats in the eye. Vinny did not see it coming & wham! she got him. I dont think Vinny likes chickens anymore.

Vinny is fine & sulking in his bed. He doesn't thing we should keep chickens anymore.

I caught one of the girls the other day and she made a bee line for my shoulder where she stayed all nice and contented. I looked at her and did the math real quick and turned away otherwise I know that I'd have been in the "Chicken pecks to the eye hurt" club. I warn everyone that holds them or gets near them to watch out for them pecking.
