Anyone else get their MPC special? **Pics and updates**

They look GREAT!!! And I love the bench as well. It give you a place to sit when out visiting as well.

I think you're the one who got us all interested in the Rainbow Special.

Thanks for the update.

Yeah the bench is great, but I have to go hose it off once a week during coop cleaning. I always bring a cushion with me to sit on, or I have chicken poop on the back of my pants, lol. I seem to always get chicken poop somewhere on my clothes when out visiting. I always go let them out while still in my night gown, that way I go in a shower and its doesn't matter. Now its awfully cold out there in my PJ's throwing scratch and changing the water out. I bought special "chicken shoes" as I ruined a pair of sneakers now I'm going to have to buy "chicken coveralls" so I don't freeze. I love my chickie's especially in the morning with the cock-a-doole-doo and the brawk-brawk-braaawwwwkkk good mornings I get. Love those BIG fluffy butts.

Insulated overalls are the only way to go. I love them for all my farm chores.

I have one little girl that insists on sitting on my shoulder. Cinnamon (one of my "spice girls") immediately perches there the second I enter the coop. She likes to pick through my hair and be petted. Well, thanks to the cool weather, I've been wearing my heavy jacket. The material is a bit slippery. After sliding around and frantically beating her wings to stay put, Cinn has a solution. See the body of the jacket is a nylon type material, but the sleeves and hood are jersey. So she sits on my head.

So now I keep the hood up to keep the poo off my head.

Good thing she has me trained now.

I'm a sight when I go out in blue scrubs (work in medical field), green scarf my daughter knitted last X-Mas, red barn coat with silver snaps that get pecked, black Elmer Fud hat that has flaps to cover my ears, and my favorite pink, green, purple striped rubber boots.

We've been having high winds and rain. Clay soil so I have 1-5" of standing water. A good portion of my run is covered so half of its dry but the rest is mucky yucky.

Two days ago I got poo splattered on my check when the girls were flying down off the roost as it was still dark out when I opened the coop and turned on the light.

As I wiped it off with the back of my hand, I was thinking you gotta love those chicks to put up with splattered poo.

None of mine are looking roo'ish and I got 26 mailed to me. Can't beat 100% when they only guarantee 96% I think it is.

Of the 10 pullets I got from the feed store last Feb 09 from Privet Hatchery, both EE's ended up being roos and come to find out, most of the 25 EE's in that order ended up being roos.

Not sure if EE's are harder to sex.

Someone is coming and picking up my Roo's and extra hens on Thanksgiving (I hope) as I have WAY too many chickens. Also, I feel guilty admitting this, I have 4 eggs in the incubator and my husband is MAD. But they are Ameraucana's (EE) and I have no blue or green egg laying hens. I was hoping to get some in this Pullet Surprise Special, but oh well. I am determined to have a rainbow basket!!! He can be mad all he wants, I am selling some, so I can have more, right?
