Anyone else getting ready for some new baby hatching?

The one that pipped this morning has now hatched but no more pips so far. I hope I have a least a few more.

I hope you do to! I love hatching out babies. I am still waiting on 2 that pipped this morning. They are starting to make bigger holes now, if they do like the other 10 did they should be out in a hour or so. I will try to get a pic up here of the 10 that are already hatched, I have 9 black ones and 1 white one with black stripes, they are all bannie mixes. But oh so cute!

here are my babies

Beautiful babies!! I'm still a little new to this, but from what I have read newspaper can cause leg problems because they slide around and can't get any traction. You might want to add some pine shavings. Just trying to help out a little.

I still just have the one that hatched this morning but I did candle some other eggs when I took him out of the incubator and saw some movement so hopefully he will have some friends soon. Hes making a lot of noise so he could use the company.

yes the newspaper is temporary, I have to go to town tomorrow and get some shavings for them. I had a new one hatch just about 30 minutes ago, it is a beautiful silver color, and as I was admiring him through the window I noticed I have another one pipped. So now I have 1 that has a pretty good size pip that has turned into a hole and another that just pipped about 15 minutes ago. I have a feeling I am going to be up late tonight. I love watching these little ones hatch. God's creation at its finest. I hope you have more little ones soon, so that the one already hatched gives you a little peace

I did the water test yesterday and my four remaining eggs were all dead. Two didn't finish developing one was upside down and the other hasn't absorbed its yolk. Should I be disappointed with a 75% hatch from my own fresh eggs?? I'm wondering if I need to decrease temp by a fraction. They hatched early, I set them on A Saturday evening so was expecting them on a Sat. They were 1/2 piped Thur might, 8 hatched by Friday morning, 9 during the day and one more during Friday night. So ended up with 18 out of 24 fertile eggs. Should I'd decrease temp by a fraction or not???

I would be happy with that hatch rate. You can try to experiment with temp and humidity, but 99.5-100.5 should be about right depending on your incubator.

I woke up this morning with 2 more pipped. However my humidity had dropped to 45%. It is back up now but is this something I should worry about since they had pipped with low humidity? Also one pipped on the wrong end of the egg. I hope he makes it.

I am not sure about the humidity, I have a little giant incubator and do not monitor the humidity, just the temperatute. I keep my temp between 99.5 and 100. Hope the babies come out ok

. I had to assist one of my babies earlier, it had been pipped for almost 24 hours so I went ahead and helped it out. I saw on another board where an egg pipped at the wrong end at came out just fine.
