One week to go! Anyone else now suffering the last week stress out!

Yes, and I am out of town and don't know what is going on with the bator and eggs and won't be home until Monday. Hopefully all is well. My temps have been really consistent and good but not sure about the humidity. Can't wait until next week and hatching. I'll be a nervous wreck with it being by first.

Tomorrow will be my official 1 week left to go.

I wasn't too anxiety ridden until last night. I got home and checked on my banty girl - she hates it, but I usually give her a couple light pets before leaving her be. Sometimes she'll stay put, but yesterday she got up off her nest - chicken cussin' me the whole way out into the run. Then I noticed it - a cracked egg.

I couldn't believe it! How in the world did she manage to get this far and then crack an egg?!

I held it up to the sun and it looked way too clear - I looked back into the nest to make sure none of the others were damaged and then it hit me...I was seeing 7 eggs - not 6. Turned out that my broody banty girl must've stolen my other banty girl's egg and moved it from one nest to another.

Even with this bit of knowledge I was still nervous about checking the cracked egg. All eggs had a red "X" on them, but those eggs are so chicken-butt polished that the only thing left on them is a nice shine. Luckily it was a fresh non-fertile egg, but what a heart stopper!

Monday will be my "1 week to go" Turkeys and turkens are looking good.

I just candle around day 10 to take out the duds and let them go.

I have ducks due on May 1 and some chickens due on May 3. I have some other due anyday. I will join in should be lots of fun.

May 1st will be day 20 on the Cobb eggs in my 'bator. Should have pipping and maybe a few hatching on that day...I hope.

My second batch is due on May 4th, BBS/Copper Black Marans from onthespot. Really have my fingers crossed on this batch...I SO want Black Coppers!!!
