Anyone else have an ugly chick? New pic @ 1 month!!

One batch of my chicks is at the "awkward" looking stage. They are still agile, but they just look geeky. Not ugly!

Aw, poor thing. He's not ugly. He's cute. All chicks are cute fuzzy butts. IMO.

My little ugly is a dark barred rock with fuzz stuck all over her neck. Everyone else has shed the baby fuzz, but this one hasn't. I still can't *really* call any of your cuties ugly, though. Now Quinea mixes...those are ugly chicks.

I think all chicks are cute....at all ages.I do agree with gryeyes...they get a little "geeky"

I kinda like that geeky/awkward/tweenage phase with chicks. I have some 4-1/2 week-olds in the brooder & they're kinda awkward and look just hideous because it turns out that 2 of them are frizzles! One of the frizzle boys has a little bit of attitude, and I think it's because those weird pokey feathers must itch like the dickens when they're growing in! I dunno, that's just a theory I have.

The juxtaposition of the chick fuzz and spiky head feathers starting to grow longer makes them particularly punk-like. That, plus the chest-bumping and King Of The Brooder Roost antics make me think of The Fonz. Some of the baby roos almost swagger. They look like they are just waiting to have their little leather jackets fitted.

None of these chicks are ugly...there is no such thing as an ugly chicken..well..okay Turkens ( a.k.a Naked Necks ) and Showgirls don't do anything for me....but
