Anyone else just now starting to "line dry" their clothes outside?

I'm line drying also, but BEWARE of the bees! I put on a pair of bluejeans yesterday and it had a huge bumble bee in the pants leg! I had them on for like 10 minutes and then suddenly felt like I was getting stung! Yeah, because I WAS!!!

OUCHY!!! That hurt! So you all may want to check your clothes for the little buggers and prevent getting stung!

I line dry from March till November, weather permitting. It's rained for the past 7 days, so I had to break down and dry a load of whites in the dryer, but I saved the rest of my laundry and today it's sunny soooo.

Reasons I line dry:

1) They smell so good!
2) To save money
3) For the peace of it.

I might be weird, but hanging and picking in clothes is peaceful for me. A time to slow down, watch my chickens, and reflect on the day, or life, or God, or whatever. For me, hanging clothes is refreshing for the soul.

One con of line drying.... lint and dog hair. Anyone devise a way to cut down on lint and dog hair when line drying, other than throwing the load in the dryer before or after hanging?

I have metal posts! I just plant vines to conceal them. I planted honeysuckle (not the Japanese or Hall's) to grow up them. The honeysuckle I have planted gets flowers for the hummers, then gets red juicy berries for the other birds

I've been line drying for about a month now. Umbrella lines all the way for me. And I'm not against hanging clothes to dry inside if the weather is not agreeable.

I wish you hadn't posted that.
I'm highly allergic, but I've NEVER had that problem in my whole life of line drying (my mom line dried stuff as long as I can remember, we had a clothesline at all of my childhood homes)

I'll never be able to put on clothes straight off the line again without worrying about the bees

I've had ants in my clothes before, but dang that bumble bee hurt! We have a lot of them hanging around the house so I'm going to be on guard like all summer long. We always hung out clothes growing up, too. I still remember taking in frozen laundry that didn't dry and crying because my fingers hurt so bad from the cold. My dear mom never had a dryer. She deserves a monument.

I've had a bee or 2 in my clothes also! Gotta shake them out when I pull them off. Today, however the enemy was our basset hound, he got a hold of a pair of my uniform pants and decided to take a nap on them!

I had to cut the tree down that had a line running to it from a hook attached to our garage.Been bugging dh for years to build me a T shaped line. I have the perfect spot for it.I think this year I will just have to build it myself.
