Anyone else not a fan of Christmas music?

I guess thats the part that bothers me since in my opinion it is NOT that time of the year yet....... it is still November its not suppose to be the 35 days of Christmas.

Exactly! Even if you celebrate the 12 days of Christmas, they don't start until Christmas Day.

Gonna give away my age here, but one of my favorite memories is of baking cookies while listening to "The Chipmunks" Christmas album

Or the Snoopy Christmas album! LOLOL

Yup...we are fossils

The music, I fear, is more of the consummerism rampant in America--music for Christmas moved up to midNovember is a great example. ...get the people in the mood to spend, spend, spend... I'd be so much happier with the music situation if the radio and mall tunes kicked in around Decem ber 15, two weeks before the day. The traditional twelve days of Christmas, I believe, began with Christmas Day and continued to Three Kings Day or Epiphany on January 6. Now, that time span means something, but what do our radios and malls do? Cut off the holiday music by evening Christmas Day...nada after that, although that is when much of the Christmas story begins. Strange. Unfortunate. Just has to be endured. ~G

When you get it from November 1st through the end of April you get kind of sick of it.

I love snow too and we get it all 6 months of winter.....

I love the way it looks and smells and I love that it is good for the gardens in the spring.

I actually really like some of the instrumental stuff, especially Trans Siberian Orchestra! I also like that Christmas song about Africa and Carol of the Bells.

I think if I had young children I would enjoy Christmas music and the holiday season a lot more. Right now I'm in an awkward stage where the Christmas season doesn't really mean a whole lot to me. I spend it with my very immediate family, which I really enjoy, but I guess I just feel that Christmas was a lot more fun when I would try to stay awake all night waiting for Santa!

However, the fact that I saw Christmas commercials the day after Halloween was quite upsetting. Everyone else is always so stressed around this time of year. I guess being an EMT doesn't help much either. Quite a few suicides this time of year!

Even back when I celebrated Christmas, I didn't care for the music, especially country versions (though I am a country music fan in general).
