Anyone else not a fan of Christmas music?

I am not particularly fond of Christmas music this year, because my sister has been playing it on the piano since May...

I don't really like it.....there is a really good radio station I like and in the winter nothing but xmas music so it is off limits.

I am not a fan of listening to Christmas music.

However, I AM a HUGE fan of singing it - I love a good sing a long.

In reference to discussions about 12 days / 35 days / etc. of Christmas:

Ah, see, I reject other people's ideas of how much I should spend or what I should buy for Christmas / Hanukkah / Winter Solstice / Saturnalia / Sol Invictus/ Kwanzaa / Name your winter holiday. However, I also reject people's ideas of when I should begin or end my celebrations or even what holiday(s) I can or should celebrate. I put up my decorations when and how I please.

Now, I do recognize that putting up Christmas decorations in September might create problems in my neighborhood, just as putting up my Halloween decor in March might be strange to people. Then again, I don't decorate outside anyway, except for a few decorations for Halloween (none for Christmas). So, that really isn't a concern. I have enough respect for my neighbors not to subject them to blow up reindeer for 6 months of the year. Inside my house, though? Well, frankly, if I want a Christmas tree up 365 days a year it's no one's business who lives outside the house.

If I want to celebrate Christmas by Disco dancing in my drained swimming pool, wearing nothing but an evergreen crown and body paint, then it's no one's business but mine -- well, & my son's, since I venture to guess he'd shut himself in his room until I was done, all the while shaking his head & mumbling under his breath. Just for the record, the neighbors wouldn't have to peak through the privacy fence, after all. Not my fault if they do!

So long as my holidays don't infringe on other people & are (at least mostly) legal, then I figure I can celebrate when & how I want.

Seriously, no naked dancing in the pool planned here since I don't like hypothermia and frostbite.

However, if that's what fit my idea of the holiday season then hey, why not? If your idea of the holiday season -- whatever your holiday might be -- is one day, 12 days, or 365...go for it. I have one teeny, tiny request, though. If you make Christmas cookies year round, be sure to share with me! Your idea might be Christmas church services, 12 hours of Bible readings, Mass, prayer & meditation. Mine might be a night of bacchanalian fun...or it might not.

This is one of the wonderful things about the freedom we have.

Haha how funny. I though of starting a thread like this, then decided to keep my thoughts to myself because I HATE Christmas music! (But LOVE Christmas!) I CAN'T listen to it longer than about a minute before I HAVE to get away from it.

Maybe we should have a post for those of us who are fans of Christmas music. I like it much better than country music, which IMO is the most depressing music there is.

ya i hate it sometimes because at work i have to listen to it the whole time im there...6-8 hours of it straight...

agreed! i am a total scrooge. i only buy gifts for my kids. no christmas music, no decorations except for my cheesy fiberoptic tabletop tree. i say bah humbug! also, for some reason christmas time makes me very sad. so i'm with you on this! but thanksgiving? oh bring it on! love it.

I hate that it begins in November and just never ends. Its irritating for that reason if for nothing else but then you add to the fact that I'm Jewish and work retail. Christmas music warns me that the "WAR ON CHRISTMAS" crap is just about ready to begin again.
