Anyone else order chicks??

i should be getting duck eggs in a few days

OH NO ducks in the house all winter long.. well until they fully feather out

uh oh.. hahaha but none the less first time hatching in a bator so i am worried im not going to do it right

I just had 25 of the rainbow layers shipped from Mcmurrays yesterday, they should be here tomorrow.. I told my good natured husband that I ordered a couple new chickens. Anyone in the Eugene area want a few??

Should be getting my new chicks in about a week. 25 new chicks to raise this winter, keeps me busy threw the winter months. Good luck to all you winter chick raisers.

We ordered 30 off them and lost 4 we are very happy with them and they are good on price and right now they have October 26 - Ideal Poultry Specials going on.. $.99 Assorted Bantams!!! I may order more next two months. I will be sure to order again off them..

I've got 4 week olds in the brooder in the garage... I'm hoping dh will see that as motivating to get the coop finished! I'd like to be able to move them out of the garage by Christmas...

we ordered 27 buff orpington from meyer hatchery, 5 died. probably buy from a different hatchery next time. we will try some black astralorps, & some sussex, & leghorns.

The last chicks I ordered came in the first week of August. I haven't ordered any more, partly because I have enough birds to deal with right now and partly because I don't want chicks in the house all winter. It's much easier when it's warm and I can brood outside on the front porch. I plan on downsizing by getting rid of some extra roosters soon. I may also get rid of some pullets/hens that I don't really need as well. I plan to start hatching my own in the spring, but I would like to try out some more Old English Game Bantam varieties.
