Anyone else ordering from Superior Farms?

I wrote to Danny Padgett, the poultry manager, about their Delawares recently, and he told me that he would send me some pictures, but I haven't received any as yet. I'll let you know if I can get those.

That would be great! I'm interested to see what they look like, and if they are really exhibition quality.

I am not having any luck hatching shipped eggs yet - not sure if it's the weather or what (I am in Colorado, after all). Thought I'd hedge my bets by ordering a few chicks.

I have ordered them for April, so it will be a while before they arrive!

ps. Let me know if I should send a request as well. I am tempted to, it might get things moving if there are a couple of requests.

From what I've heard, the Superior Delawares are not SQ (as many of their other breeds are), but then that's to be expected, but anyway, they were described to me as big, decent-looking heritage birds, so they're well worth a look. That's the word I've received in the last few days from someone who has seen them first-hand.

Sure, put in a request for pics too; it very well may have a good effect if he knows there's a lot of interest.

My dear...you will NOT be disappointed.

Here are some photos of their Light Brahmas from the Shawnee show:

Their blue orps are good, strong stock.
Guess I didn't pay attention to the silver pencilled rocks, or they didn't have them this summer. I was a bit preoccupied with their Barred Rocks...hehehehe

Speckled sussex were good, a bit on the small side for my tastes, but a good sized sussex is hard to find as it is.

Delawares, smaller than I'd like to see, but I will be going back for a recheck on their stock...and photos for specific peoples...lol!
