Anyone else put eggs in incubator 9-30

I put a batch in 9/30 as well! This is my first attempt at incubating chicken eggs. Hope we both have successful hatches.

How did the first night go for you guys? I had a bit of a scare this morning with my incubator. I have a Brinsea Octagon Eco 20- I've spent three days calibrating it, and I never tested rotating it back. Turns out when I rotate it backwards it drops temps to 97 degrees.

I woke up this morning and was so sad. I know that colder is better than too warm, so I'm grateful that it didn't spike. But it was frustrating to say the least.

Hope both of you are having successful egg development! When are you planning on candling/weighing your eggs?

I have been having good luck with my temps...so far....99 to 100....the humidity keeps fluctuating from low 27 to about 47.....I'm trying to keep it at about 35 to 40...a breeder told me she does this and then for lockdown....she goes up to 60 to 65 and has almost 100 percent hatches....we will see.....this is my first time and I'm trying to learn thru trial and error....LOL I wish everyone the best of luck....Hatch ON......

I plan to candle on day 7 or 8...so as not to upset the air sac too much.....I read on here not to candle before day 7 because it is still so unstable.....I hope your temps straighten out.....I have a hovabator 1602N I had this problem for about a day before I put the eggs in...and it nearly drove me crazy....but when I finally got it adjusted...it has been right on the money now for a day....again best of luck....and Hatch On

Hello!

I'd like to join!

I put 46 in on Friday. I just got done a hatch that landed me only 60% so I'm tackling it again, think I've figured out what I 've done wrong and hope to do much better this time! (This is my 3rd time.)

I am going to candle on Day 10 and Lockdown, it's much harder not to do it sooner when it's your first one, haha!

Best of luck to everyone, and so begins another LONG three weeks...

Hoping I may join in.

I am new to hatching. Started a dozen Wheaten Ameraucanas at 9 am on Thursday, Sept 29. Using a Brinsea Octo 20 Adv. Did candle before placing as they were shipped eggs. No cracks in shells, however I only had 3 intact air cells, rest were TAC.

This morning I noticed my RH was consistly in the low 40s. Checked and the water level was low, so I filled both troughs. RH up to low 50s now. Temp steady at 99.6 - 99.8.
