Since it was so terrible last night the chicks will be staying inside again tonight. They still seem to be fine with the kind small cage they're stuck in for now but I am hoping the weather will get better by next week! I think I am going to be moving miss bunny in tonight also... the stinker escaped the brooder and we had to go scoop her up from out by the pool... she was having loads of fun in the snow & was fun to watch while it lasted... she's a jet black Rex so she looked completely outta place!

Anyone in WA want a bunny? lol.

My babies just turned 6 weeks old (14 Blue Wyandottes). They are in their brooder hutch in my dad's shop. Our weather has actually been very mild. 70 to low 80s; however, we are supposed to get a cold front come through that is supposed to drop us down to the 30s..brrrr.

Got some Silkie eggs incubating and if all goes well I will have December chicks.

I got some chicks in the bottom of the incubator now, most hatched today. I am thankful that any of those hatched. They were due yesterday but are a day late because I turned of the incubator and didn't turn it back on

about a week ago. It had been turned off for about 6-8 hours. I turn it off when ever I have to load it up, add water or whatever reason I have the door open because I can't stand that fan blowing in my face...but after I made that mistake I don't think I will be turning it off anymore .. I still can't believe I did that.

I have 2 chicks just over one week old (Silver Spangled Hamburgs from Meyer) and 2 who are about two weeks (GLW and SLW from local feed store). They are happily living inside our guest bath shower! California has had a "cold" snap, meaning it has been 32 degrees. Much too cold for my bones and uncommon here in CA, but my 6 hens barely notice.
