Anyone else setting eggs this weekend? 8-3-12?

I wasn’t worried about my eggs until I read some of the other posts. Went into lock down yesterday and am starting to question the settings I used until this point. Humidity may have been too high. Wish me luck.

I'm rehoming all my EE's. I'm most likely giving them away. I'm really disappointed.

Ooops, I guess I posted this pic earlier;)

The 4th one is under a stuffed animal.;)

There are no show birds in here, but they sure are adorable!

Well, day 23..no more hatches though mama is still setting on eggs and baby is doing well. I ordered some chicks, if she's still setting when I get them is it possible she will accept them if I slip them in overnight?

Good luck. I put my humidity at 50%. Once one pipped, the humidity spiked to 70% and stayed there. I have a staggered hatch, so lockdown starts tomorrow for the rest of the bunch. I'm worried about these, but they are all alive so far.

Oh I am sooo frustrated. I am not sure exactly what happened, I must have bumped the controls last night when I took two out that that hatched. They were dry and fluffed up and there were no other pips so I decided it was safe to take them out. I gave all the other eggs a nice pep talk and told them to get on with the hatching. Went to bed at around 1, still nothing. Up this morning at 5, again nothing. Starting to feel like they were not going to hatch. All morning I have been working on a cake for a delivery this afternoon and pretty much just staying away from the incubator to avoid having even more disappointment. Around 11am there was still nothing. I quickly grabbed the egg that I had seen trying to internally pip on Wednesday night. It was still alive and I could see plenty of movement. I quickly put the egg back in and put the lid back down. Maybe out for 15 seconds. Barely lost any heat or humidity.

So now it is 3 and I went in to check for pips. Happen to notice that my incubator has decided to go back to the cooling cylce and is now at 84 degrees. I started freaking out and called for my husband to help me. He was able to reset it...I was in too much of a panic. The cooling cycle, that I turned off or thought I turned off on Wednesday cools down for 120 minutes every 24 hours. So this might be while I have not had anymore action. They were cooling Thursday and Friday and I didn't notice. So now it is all good and the heat is rising. Perhaps they ones that are still viable will hatch this evening. I sure hope so. I feel like an awful chicken mother. I have had those incubators running since April and never done something so silly.

But in other good news, my last set of shipped eggs came yesterday from Texas, six more Cream Legbars. Of the six it looks like two might have detached air sacs, the other 4 look great. So I just set them now in my small incy. I went ahead and set all the eggs, as I have had a silkie with a detached sac grow and hatch. Those eggs are expensive and I want to at least give it a try. This will be my 4th try this season for cream legbars. The first hatch I ended up with 4 of 7 and the other two sets have all been quitters or no growers. Fingers crossed I will get some good birds from this set. This will be my last set, because my husband surprised me with a cruise in October and I don't want to have too many young ones for the chicken sitter to deal with.

Please keep your fingers crossed that I just did not chill my babies and kill them.

Nicole...I am just sick to my stomach over this! Glad I noticed, but feel so dumb and like a horrible chicken momma. I need to get the cake done so I can shower and get it delivered this afternoon...I just feel sick and kinda numb. It amazes me how much I love chickens...All I can do is hope for the best. :)
