Anyone else setting eggs this weekend? 8-3-12?

Lockdown humidity is not an easy task.:p
No kidding! I had my humidity just right & once chick #3 started hatching last night, the humidity spiked so high. I was flipping out. Have kept the plug out & it's gone down a little, but still higher than I'd like.

But on a good note, four chicks have hatched. Two more were working on it this morning & two others have pipped

That's good news because I'm almost having a major meltdown! My humidity is at 70%. I have the staggered hatch. My second hatch are my show chickens.

Two more days to hatch, candled last night and got 10 of 18 showed as good. 4 of them were so dark I couldn't see a thing. As this is a mixed batch I hope some will be Jersey Giant hens. I removed the turner and added water but can't check humidity my gauge is not working. I plan to pull the 4 eggs that are solid and give them to a broody so when the others hatch and dry I give them to her.

I just candled and took my turner away...bumped the humidity. So lets see I am down to 12 eggs...some are dark shelled and were iffy, so I still left them. Two were attempting to pip internally when I candled them. That got me all kinds of excited.

Now let the intense waiting begin.
