I know about the money hardships..like i said..i need Donor eggs and its going to cost me around 7,000-10,000 dollars...
Dont think i can come up with that kind of money, so i'm kinda stuck...
I do foster care for high-risk teens.. and i really enjoy my work..but i still want my own child..
Fostering might be an option for us, hubby's not too excited about it, but it's becoming more and more obvious that we might not be able to have a child of our own, so I don't really know what will happen...
I don't understand why it is so darn expensive, with all the technology that they have...
Something very frustrating to me is the doctors that VOLUNTEER their time and resources to go to foreign countries and help infertile couples, not that they don't deserve to have a chance at a family, but help us out with the cost... come on...
And that price is WITH medical insurance..I'm fully covered for my condition for IVF costs and meds... Whats NOT covered though is the $5,000 to pay the egg donor (i thouight they were DONATING the eggs...LOL..)....and the remaining money is egg donor medical testing and (maybe) her meds for the cycle.
If i didnt have ins. it would probably cost me over 25,0000...Crazy!
Foster care is really a neat job. I enjoy helping kids..its hard to explain until you do it...
Maybe you can go talk to a foster care company and get some info from them...take it one step at a time. dont overwelm yourselves. Good luck!
