Anyone else's chicks hatching in May??

Yay!!! Mine have 9 more days to go. Can't wait. I already candled them, and half of the eggs look like quitters. I am going to keep them a little longer just to be sure before I take them out.
Don't ever give up on them, hahaa! Good luck!

Mine are random mixes of my Wyandotte rooster and California Grey Leghorns, New Hampshire Reds, Rhode Island Reds, Black Australorps, and etc. so we'll see what I get. I didn't keep track of what breed each egg came from so it'll be a big surprise!

Hi! Can I join?! I just received a box of 7 Polish and Polish/Cochin eggs. I plan to put them under my broody this weekend so they'll hatch over a weekend (5/19). Hoping to get one blue hen to replace the blue hen one of the dogs attacked in January.

Glad I didn't because I didn't candled correctly the last time. I candled again and shone the light on the fat end of the eggs and they all look viable with moving chicks inside.
That's brilliant news!
